ALPENA – Two alumni of Alpena High School will join the school’s Hall of Fame on Friday, the school announced last week.
Katie Garza, AHS Class of 2008, and Jessica Hoppe, AHS Class of 1997, will speak at a Homecoming Assembly and take part in the Homecoming Parade ahead of an Induction Ceremony ahead of the Return Game of the Alpena High.
A resident of Portage, Garza is a consultant in Organizational Behavior Management, drawing on her expertise as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Garza, recognized for her contributions to medical journals, has created tools that are used in the United States and several other countries to manage the supervision of behavior analysts.
With experience as a clinical supervisor at the Kalamazoo Autism Center at Western Michigan University and as a specialist in training program development and working on personnel issues at an Ann Arbor company, Garza currently leads staff training and supervision workshops.
Hoppe, a graduate of Tulane University Law School and Harvard Business School’s Leadership Development Program, handles legal matters for luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises.
She has traveled around the world in executive roles for hotel conglomerate Genting Malaysia, representing companies to several domestic and foreign government agencies.
Hoppe and his family live in Miami Beach and travel to Alpena and northern Michigan every year.
Hoppe and Garza will join a prestigious group of 53 other alumni recognized by their alma mater as community leaders and contributors. A plaque honors each inductee in the AHS Alumni Hall of Fame exhibit at Alpena High School.
