Human Resources Consultant 3 (HRC 3)

The Human Resources Consultant 3 (HRC 3) is a senior professional administrative position that provides leadership and management for the effective delivery of human resources (HR) services and programs in assigned university areas, campuses, and colleges. Working collaboratively within the WSU HRS system team, the HRC 3 serves as a strategic partner and consultant to senior management and management on HR issues and proactively communicates needs to successfully develop solutions. This position collaborates with HR experts across the WSU system. The HRC 3 serves as a strategic HR partner to assigned areas, campuses, colleges. Additionally, the HRC 3 mentors, coaches and advises other HR service providers, both formally and informally, to assist in the consistent implementation of HR guidelines and procedures. The Human Resources Consultant 3 can travel to campuses and sites in the WSU system. Required Qualifications: •The minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Human Resources or a related field AND five (5) years of work experience in a Human Resources function in a formal Human Resources setting. Any combination of relevant education and experience can replace the education requirement from year to year. • Progressively responsible experience in one or all of the following areas of human resources administration, strategic human resources planning, organizational and employee development, employee relations, performance management , classification/compensation and support of a diverse workforce; including two (2) years of management experience. • Ability to travel to the WSU Pullman campus and Washington State University sites is required (approximately 1-3 times per month). Preferred Qualifications: • Demonstrated ability to successfully prepare and present policy interpretations and investigative findings and conclusions • Human resources experience in a higher education setting • Human resources experience in the health sciences or in a health-related field • Experience in human resources in a non-profit environment • Experience with WorkDay • Have or be able to obtain within 12 months of hiring, a PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/ SHRM-SCP or similar professional HR certification
