Mental health nurse advisor
Full time (37.5 hours per week)
Flexible office location: Home and work from one of our regional offices (national role)
Salary of around £ 60,000 per year (depending on skills and experience) plus a car allowance of £ 4,609 per year for travel mileage

As a Nurse Consultant in this brilliant new role at Home Group, you will help us shape the strategic direction of mental health nursing practice across our Transforming Care services, building frameworks and pushing forward limits of excellence in our nursing care. As a senior executive, you will provide and oversee specialized nursing assessments, formulations and interventions, managing clinical risk to facilitate the transition of care and support for clients with high risk needs. Our clients have a wide range of complex and interconnected needs including learning disabilities, autism, diagnosis of mental health issues, personality disorders, communication differences, as well as persistent physical health issues. . They may also have forensic training and support needs related to their behavior.
Expert in your field, you will mentor and develop our front-line operational and clinical teams through expert nursing advice, training, clinical supervision and reflective practice to improve their care delivery. You will ensure that all practice is provided within legal, professional, and ethical limits, including treatment of illnesses, disorders, and injuries. You will also oversee medication management, including deprescribing and stewardship of STOMP, as well as the integration of new interventions and practices aligned with our Living Independently (LIFE) support practice model.
You will report to Nic, our Clinical Practice Director, who you find outside of work out in the country with his daughter and his small but powerful Cavapoo. She has an incredible vision for developing new models of care in the future and would love you to join her and the team on this journey.

Where you will work
The position will involve regular national travel, so you should be prepared to travel and work from our various departments and offices, with a bit of hybrid work from home as well! We have services in Kent, Swindon, Birmingham, St Albans and Leeds and we are expanding this year to Hull, Norfolk and Surrey. With more locations over the coming year. We will therefore need you to have a current driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
You will participate in our on-call system as a senior climbing point, in rotation.
A little about you
It goes without saying that you will be an experienced registered mental health nurse and expert practitioner, with relevant professional qualifications and advanced level training in therapeutic interventions such as independent prescription registration, DBT, CBT. With extensive experience and knowledge in contemporary mental health practice, you will have worked with a wide variety of clients across the spectrum of clinical severity, including clients with complex support needs.
You will have a brilliant experience in clinical supervision and unleashing the potential of your colleagues through your clinical advice, support and training. You will also bring experience in service design, successfully transitioning from new practices to local service delivery. You will also have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work. We will pay for your mileage.
Improved disclosure control will be required for this role and the costs for this role will be borne by us.
