Travel agents target school students, those who attend university, businesses, government agencies, and families.
Muscat: Five segments of people in Oman are targeted by travel agents selling packages for Expo 2020 Dubai.
The exhibit begins October 1, 2021 and is expected to run until March 31, 2022, after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We believe there will be primarily interest from five segments: students, university students, businesses, government agencies and families,” said Cashio Vettom, managing director of Khimji’s House of Travel, who was authorized to sell tickets in Oman. .
“The exhibition aims to provide us with the ideas that will inspire the next generations, so you will have concepts and perspectives that will certainly be of interest to students,” he added. “In addition, it will hopefully influence public policy for decades as well, because of the themes Expo 2020 focuses on, so government officials, especially those interested in areas such as energy, transport, communications and food security will find that interesting as well. “
Expo 2020 is based on three concepts: opportunity, mobility and sustainability, which aim to create a sustainable planet for generations to come. It includes more than 200 pavilions, 192 of which will be set up by participating countries.
It is the first time in the history of world exhibitions that countries have organized their own pavilions. Visitors to the exhibition can enjoy immersive cultural experiences and discover what makes each nation unique.
“Travel and tourism are just getting back on their feet, and many families will be very excited to come to the exhibit as they have been forced to stay in their homes for about 18 months since the start of the year. the COVID-19 pandemic, ”Vettom said.
“Let’s not forget that the exhibition is in Dubai, which has many, many attractions for people, apart from the event itself,” he said. “It is advisable to book for more than one day of visit to the exhibition, as there is no way to see everything at the same time.”
“It is also a good opportunity for companies, because any product under design or any policy under research will have to be executed at least in part by the private sector,” he continued.
The Expo 2020 packages offered by the travel agency include entry to the event and accommodation in Dubai. Depending on the package selected by clients, other add-ons, such as airport transfers and city tours, may be included, while the validity of the exhibition entrance pass also varies from package to the other.
A package priced at OMR 117 for two people includes, for example, three nights’ accommodation, airport transfers, a half-day visit to Dubai and a day pass for the exhibition. For the OMR130, however, customers can book the self-driving package, which provides them with a rental car, as well as multi-day entrances to the exhibit.
Those who wish to stay longer can opt for the four-night-five-day package, which also includes five-day car rental, accommodation, and multi-day exhibition tickets.
Those who want to stay in five-star accommodation and stay longer in Dubai can choose the five-night-six-day package, priced at OMR 322 for two.
“All of our packages are fully customizable,” said Vettom. “If you only want to stay three days, but go for two days at Expo 2020, you can do that. If you want a five star stay but want to visit Dubai for just three days, that is also possible. ”
“Some people might want to travel by road, in which case they don’t need to rent a car when they come here, so we can mix and match packages for people,” he added.
“We are already seeing good demand for exhibition bookings and plan to do well in this six month period.”
