Starting today, tourists can visit popular Manila City sites such as Rizal Park, Fort Santiago, Baluarte de San Diego, and Plaza San Luis in Intramuros, the Department of Tourism (DoT) said.

Only people aged 18 to under 65 will be allowed.

Rizal Park will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a maximum capacity of 500 visitors at any one time.

The DoT encouraged visitors to download the contact tracing application, StaySafe, although manual contact tracing forms are available.

Fort Santiago will be open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekends. The maximum number of visitors at any given time will be 150.

Meanwhile, Baluarte de San Diego will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a maximum capacity of 80 people, while Plaza San Luis will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“The reopening of Fort Santiago, Baluarte San Diego and Plaza San Luis will allow visitors to re-experience the Asia of 2020 and the world’s top tourist attraction, recognized by the World Travel Awards. But we continually urge our tourists to strictly adhere to health and safety protocols. to support the resumption of tourism in the country, ”said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.

She noted that 99 percent of Intramuros administration workers had been fully vaccinated, while 96 percent of Rizal Park staff had also completed their inoculation.

An express lane for fully vaccinated people visiting Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego will be put in place to encourage more residents to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

The department added that all visitors will undergo mandatory temperature checks and be required to meet minimum health standards.

“Time and time again, we remind everyone to strictly follow health and safety protocols when visiting Rizal Park, Intramuros and other tourist sites and destinations that have reopened and to get vaccinated when the opportunity arises. introduces himself.
