PENANG: The Sabah Tourism Board, along with four travel agents, were at the Spice Convention Center to showcase Sabah as one of Malaysia’s hidden gems at the Malaysia International Travel Mart (MITM) 2022 travel fair in Penang. Vacation packages were offered during the fair from the most wanted islands in Semporna waters to others like Kota Kinabalu, Kundasang, Tunku Abdul Rahman Park and Kinabalu Park among others. The islands off Semporna have been a popular hit for agents and consumers alike as many outbound agents offer Semporna outside of other international destinations and buyers always linger at the Sabah Tourism booth towards the late hours of the first day .

The showcased products that were gaining momentum were the rural tourism product where visitors can experience the natural theme park and find out how the people of these areas are connected through community tourism inside Sabah, such as in Tenom. Sabah Tourism has also partnered with one of the country’s e-wallet providers, Boost, to add value to the consumer experience during the show with a RM100 e-wallet voucher. Sabah Tourism Board Director General Noredah Othman said Sabah Tourism will continue its mission to promote Sabah as a favorite destination for Malaysians at the upcoming MITM Fair in Kuala Lumpur.

“Please visit and support us at the Mid Valley Exhibition Center July 8-10. Many attractive packages will be offered by our travel partners,” added Noredah. In support of the MTCA Sabah chapter, seven MTCA members will participate with the Sabah Tourism Board in the MITM fair in Kuala Lumpur.
