Some 45 agents from different parts of the country gathered in Rome for the event, proof of the growing interest in the destination, especially as Seychelles is one of the few long-haul countries open to Italian tourists via the “tourist corridors without COVID”. .

The Seychelles were illustrated in all their special aspects, from their history to their myriad attractions, with Evolution Travel’s Product Manager, Bruno Bottaro, playing an active role in answering the many questions and helping to draw attention to the different segments.

Special guests Qatar Airways exemplified connectivity with the archipelago and the best services of the Gulf airline while Constance Hotels and Resorts focused on the hospitality sector, training agents on how best to sell their complexes, Ephelia on Mahé and Lémuria on Praslin.

Evolution Travel, a top-selling travel agency and tour operator in the Seychelles, operates through a network of online travel advisors spread across Europe. The travel agency has organized three familiarization trips to the islands in 2021 for their agents to experience the destination.

Figures show the Italian market is recovering rapidly following the lifting of travel restrictions by the Italian government and data shows a forecast of +350% is recorded for bookings in the months ahead January-June 2022 compared to the number visitors during the same period in 2021.

“We are confident that the COVID pandemic has reached its peak and Italian visitors will soon be back among Seychelles’ main markets,” said Danielle Di Gianvito, Tourism Seychelles’ Italy representative. “We are slowly resuming small in-person events as restrictions are eased. Interest in the destination is very high, as is demand for spring and summer breaks.
